The Inspiration
One of my favorite memories as a little girl was going to craft fairs with my mom , both as a vendor and a shopper . I loved helping in whatever way I could , curling ribbon , heat shrinking the plastic around a gift basket ( so satisfying ) , ringing up customers at her store and being a taste tester for those old fashion candy sticks .
Over the years I followed the path for “certain” success and achievement not really doing much in the way of creating , the risk of judgment and failure seemed too high . Once I had my daughter I could see she had the “ crafter gene “ . When she was little we spent hours painting and crafting . One of her favorite things to do when she goes to GiGis house is look through the craft room to see what she can create. I hope that the creation of this store can be a way to continue to support her creativity and a way for us and our family to make our own crafting memories .
I have multiple marigolds in my life, those that know what they have been for me and others that have had the courage to follow their unknown path to their purpose. Some include : my husband for giving me the push to do something outside my lines , my Mom for her never ending support with anything I do and my daughter for her passion for creating and the hope that I can be a marigold to her , and other creators .
The Marigold Effect
Many gardeners follow a concept called companion planting: placing certain vegetables and plants near each other to improve growth for one or both plants. The marigold is one of the best: It protects a wide variety of plants from pests and harmful weeds. If you plant a marigold beside most any garden vegetable, that vegetable will grow big and strong and healthy, encouraged by its marigold. Marigolds exist in our lives as well – supporting and nurturing growth and success.
Be a marigold.
